Meeting online only, 12 Austin teens developed six placemaking strategies for reclaiming city owned residential lots on the blocks where they live. Creating spaces for community play at the hyper-local level is an urban design strategy that addresses youth empowerment, public safety, and mental health one block at a time. Territory design teams hope to prototype Austin 2.0 in summer 2022.
